Making their international debut, the Denians Voice Ensemble of Doña Carmen Denia National High School in Toril, Davao City, emerged as champion in the 9th Singapore International Choral Festival (SICF), held from July 23 to 27 at the historic Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore, competing in Category B1.
The ensemble captivated an international panel of adjudicators with their vocal blend, musicality, and stage presence in Category B1, which features mixed voice choirs with members aged 19 and below under the baton of conductor Harold C. Pedida, with their coach, Florgie Salon-Polinar.
“All our sacrifices have paid off. Worth it ang tanan struggle, despite sa mga challenges. There’s always a rainbow after the rain,” said Polinar during the virtual interview.
Following their recent triumph in Singapore, the group is now preparing to represent the country once again in the upcoming 2nd International Thailand Chorale Competition this August, further establishing their presence in the global choral arena.
