Welterweight division gold medalist Scott Gonzales of Unit 2, Teofilo V. Fernandez National High School walloped his way to DAVRAA using his strength and might, not minding whether his opponent is taller or bigger than him.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa kay Nanay at Tatay na unang sumuporta po sa akin. Thank you. Gayundin po sa mga naging coach ko at higit sa lahat kay God na binigyan ako ng lakas sa lahat ng mga laro,” Gonzales expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people who helped him.

He added that he admires the international champ Aaron Cook, who ranks number one in the 80 kilogram division. Gonzales, who has been training at Kaizen Taekwondo Club, had won bronze last in DCAA 2019 and is eyeing for gold not only in the city meet but also for DAVRAA.
