Relative to the DepEd Davao City Division’s effort to ensure effective and efficient delivery of instruction of Practical Research subject, DepEd Davao City Division held a series of Retooling Sessions for Practical Research Teachers in Private Senior High Schools in 3rd congressional districts of Davao City.

This was anchored from The Department of Education, through the Division Memorandum No. 127 Series of 2023 entitled Retooling Program for Practical Research Teachers in Private Senior High Schools in the Division of Davao City. It was spearheaded by Dr. Elsie E. Gagabe, Education Program Supervisor for Practical Research Subjects..

Hence, the private and public senior high school teachers in Davao City particularly those who are teaching practical research have come to convergence for improving and intensifying the standard of teaching practical research to students.

Moreover, this retooling was anchored from the Department of Education’s new direction under the leadership of the Department of Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio who recently launched MATATAG: Bansang Makabata, Batang Makabansa as a guide to improving the quality of education, addressing challenges, and resolving issues faced by Filipino students.

For the 3rd Congressional District Retooling Program, it was successfully commenced and culminated with the leadership of Dr. Amylyn F. Labasano – Cluster Head for District 3 ,together with Dr. Achilles Charles G. Grandeza and Dr. Rex A. Lim for Districts 1 and 2 respectively.

The success of the program was due also to the support of the private schools as partners. The program was held at Holy Child College of Davao, Green Meadows Subdivision, Tugbok Davao City with the support of Ma’am Anilyn R. Olorvida, School Principal of the said school wherein accommodation was truly indeed an excellent one.

The said activity was participated by eleven (11) private schools. Teachers from these schools were very participative and vigorous as they shared their practices and trends from their respective institution, in which it also constituted to the overwhelming success of the 3-day Retooling Program for the 3rd District of the Division of Davao City.

Indeed, this collaboration was a great avenue to strengthen the advocacy of MATATAG: Bansang Makabata, Batang Makabansa as a guide to improving the quality of education, addressing challenges, and resolving issues faced by Filipino students.
