It is hard to imagine that a far-flung area such as Balite Elementary School, Marilog District B of Unit 4 could produce titleholders in table tennis for succeeding years now.
In the recently concluded table tennis competition, Chloe C. Contridas and Rianne F. Angel from Marilog B district secured gold under the doubles category at SPIN Davao on February 8, all thanks to their coach, Mr. Landelino P. Darlo.
“I have been a coach since 2004. I am the coach at the same time trainer nila. Ako ang nagtuturo sa kanila. So, masasabi ko na ang confidence at trust nila sa akin na-gets nila kaya confident sila maglaro,” the Palarong Pambansa winning coach said in an interview.
He always reminds his players not to get nervous and to focus on the game for them to defeat their opponents. As part of his game plan also, he implants the value of teamwork, discipline and cleanliness to them.
Landelino has been reaping medals in Palarong Pambansa since 2015 and hopes to continue this legacy this year and the years to come.
