THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF DAVAO DONATES THIRTY (30) HANDWASHING FACILITIES TO DEPED DAVAO CITY RESPONDING TO THE MATATAG PROGRAM OF TAKING GOOD CARE OF OUR LEARNERS

Another milestone of collaboration and partnership for the common good, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of the Philippines represented by the Ambassador Huang Xilian donated and turned-over thirty (30) handwashing facilities to its 30-beneficiary schools on June 29, 2023 at New Valencia Integrated School covered court. The program started by cutting of ribbon at exactly 1:30 in the afternoon headed by the Davao City Mayor Hon. Sebastian Z. Duterte, People’s Republic of China Counselor Zou Yong, Second Secretary Ms. Zhang Min, Attache Ms. Wang Anqi along with the DepEd, Davao City Schools Division Superintendent Reynante A. Solitario, CESO VI. Present also in the program were the OIC for Davao Promotion Center Ms. April Marie Dayap, other School Heads of cluster 6, Barangay Officials lead by Punong Brgy Hon. Delia T. Saturinas and LGU’s.

Dr. Solitario extended his warmest gratitude to the stakeholders in helping bridging the gaps so we can achieve the goals of education in line with the MATATAG program which is to take good care of our learners.
The crowd cheered as the City Mayor of Davao Hon. Duterte thanked the Chinese Embassy for their generosity in implementing hygiene promotion initiatives in schools. He also, reminded the learners to focus on their studies before anything else and also to take care of the handwashing facilities.

Counselor Yong mentioned that the partnership between the People’s Republic of China and the Philippines had existed long time ago and they hope that it will last a lifetime.

As a way of giving thanks to our delegates the selected NVIS learners both in elementary and high school presented a simple performance showcasing the culture of both countries. Further, Mr. Antonio D. Tutor, School Head of NVIS manifested gratefulness of being a recipient of HF. Thus, DepEd SDS Solitario with Jonas Piore, Division Partnership Coordinator and Anna Leah Salvado, Division Nurse facilitated the giving of a plaque of appreciation to the People’s Republic of China and the City Government of Davao. Moreover, the other 29 beneficiary schools virtually participated by conducting their own ribbon cutting held at their respective schools via google meet with the participation of their respective Punong Barangay. Indeed, the event is a great success!
