The Lamb of God SPED Academy Saints from Unit 8 lost to an 89-72 defeat to Rizal Memorial Colleges Bulldogs of Unit 5 in the championship game of the five-on-five basketball tournament at Doña Pilar Learning Center Foundation, Inc. on February 9.

Lorenz A. Cinco emerged as one of the two key players of the team who was able to tick the scoreboard with a total of 9 points in the finals.

“Happy kaayo ko sa akong performance. Naningkamot lang gyud ko. Good ang among teamwork,” the 15-year-old point guard said in an interview.

Despite their loss due to poor execution of offense and lack of dynamic team movement, their coach, Ice Gravador, was already very happy with the performance of the team.

“Even though we lost, I’m still proud of what they have accomplished. Because since DAPRISA pa they already thought na hindi kami makaabot ng DCAA, eh. But eventually, we won DAPRISA. And then, heto na naman, pagstart ng DCAA, they said wala daw kami kasi maliliit kami. But still we played up to the championship game. So, there’s nothing more I could ask from the boys,” coach Gravador explained.

It is the first time that the Lamb of God SPED Academy basketball team has entered the championship game since joining the Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) Meet.
